One word for 2023 – Mama Ginger

It’s that time of year when I think about my word for the year — the one word that rules them all (well, at least how I’m living my life for 2023). After thinking about it for a few days last December, I finally decided on my word. The word I chose was DEFINITE.

I am determined.

I am determined to achieve my financial goals this year. Last year we started the year with the whole family having COVID. That really put me off the financial plans we had. It’s been a pretty rocky start to the year, but that hasn’t stopped me. Even though I missed my financial goals by 30%, it’s fine. Last year I had to at least save and invest.

I am fully committed to helping Zeeka enjoy studying at home. Last year we also decided that we will definitely homeschool Zeeka for 4th grade. We’re already two quarters behind us and it’s been fun so far. Papa EJ teaches Math, Science, CF, Digital Literacy and I teach Language, Reading, Filipino, Social Studies and Arts. We all enjoyed it!

I am fully committed to helping our employees become more competent and fulfilled. I think my work theme this year is to help our team members grow – in terms of skills, knowledge, confidence, experience, maturity, etc. I read this book: No Rules Rules: Netflix and the Culture of Neuvention and Es made me realize that you have to have complete trust in your people for them to shine.

I am determined to be a loving wife. We have been married for 13 years and a lot has changed. With two children we hardly have any time for ourselves. But this year I’m looking forward to more alone time with my husband – more dating!

That’s it…
