OVP: P156M worth of medical aid program distributed so far

So far, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) has distributed aid worth more than 156 million pesetas to 15,000 beneficiaries as part of its medical assistance program.

In a statement released Wednesday, the OVP said its Public Assistance Department has helped at least 15,456 beneficiaries with aid totaling P156,872,895.77 as of Dec. 9 since Vice President Sara Duterte took office on June 30 this year has started.

The OVP instituted a medical and funeral assistance program to provide social services to Filipinos in need.

As part of its medical assistance program, the OVP said it has added 50 more partner hospitals and dialysis centers to its list of service providers to reach more beneficiaries.

It now has a total of 84 partners across the country, made up of public and private medical institutions.

Aside from the OVP Headquarters in Mandaluyong, inpatient and outpatient beneficiaries can access medical assistance through the seven OVP satellite offices across the country, particularly in Bacolod, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao City, Surigao, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

According to the OVP, the free social assistance claim forms are available at its central and field offices and could only be used by the clients requesting such services. — Giselle Ombay/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
